Graphics settings explained

Postby pythetron » Tue Dec 16, 2014 10:29 pm

Pythetron offers many graphics options to assure nearly all PC gamers will be able to play the game. In addition to selecting the resolution for the game, you have the choice between 5 quality settings...

Very basic

This setting disables all post-processing effects and reduces particle cloud density to nearly zero. In addition, many graphical elements do not appear while playing using this setting. This would be useful for players with computers more than 10 years old and should typically be run in combination with a low resolution like 800x600.

Includes only the color adjustment post-effect and minimal anti-aliasing. Some graphical elements will not appear and particle cloud densities will be very low. As with the "very basic" setting, this setting is typically only needed by computers that are nearly a decade old or more and should probably be run in combination with a low resolution for best results.

Pretty good

A pretty good setting for non-gaming PC's and very old computers usually best at 720p. This includes most post-processing effects, decent anti-aliasing, and basic shadows. Overall, the game will look... pretty good.

This setting includes good anti-aliasing, all post processing effects, and excellent quality shadows and particle effects. This is a great "budget" setting that looks nearly as good as the best setting with only minor differences. Any gaming PC built in the last 8 years should support this setting in either 1080p or 720p.

The best setting includes all effects and high quality anti-aliasing. Every graphically controlled element in the game is maxed out on this setting. This setting will run fine on most gaming PCs at 1080p but may require 720p on some older gaming rigs. Most modern non-gaming PC's can run this setting at a resolution of 720p or lower.

The best game-play is achieved with a setting that allows the game to run at 60fps.
